- Guenoc
Estate Vineyards and Winery

- The Guenoc label is graced in Victorian style by the cameo of
its famous proprietor, British actress Lillie Langtry, who acquired the
property - the first planted in vineyards in 1854 - and resolved to make the
"greatest claret in the country." She produced wines in her valley
from 1888-1906, placing her likeness on the bottles of those wines.
Present day proprietor Orville Magoon has restored the Langtry House to its
former beauty and collected over 8,000 pieces of Langtry memorabilia.

The house is open for viewing each year the Saturday before Mother's Day. Concerts are also held on the Langtry House lawn. The winery is located 6 miles east on Butts Canyon Road just north of Middletown and is open for sales every day and for tours and tastings Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Picnic facilities are available.
