In
addition to a listing in the online Directory of Middletown Merchants,
Free Web Space is provided on this site for Association members. You
may put up a web page of 200 Kilobytes or less, or roughly the
equivalent of 3 to 5 advertising flyers with full-color images, online
order form, product catalog, etc. You can have "Shopping Cart", "Guest
Book", "Bulletin Board", and "E-Mail Forms" on your site using CGI
Scripting.
Design,
Creation, and Promotion of your site is not
included. You may design a web page yourself and upload it to the site
using the Online Merchant Services Page
after getting a username and password or contract with someone to do it
for you.

If
you already have your own web site please consider placing a "splash"
page on the "Shop Middletown" site pointing to your site. This will
allow the on-line search to find your site when a visitor requests
information pertaining to your business. A reciprocal link to the "Shop
Middletown" site would also be appreciated as well as
joining the "Shop Middletown" Web
Ring, a "round-robin" which simulates walking past the stores of a
shopping mall, allowing visitors to "browse" your site.

|
|
The
"Shop Middletown" web site will provide 24-hr, 7-day advertising for
your business on the World-Wide-Web at a cost to the Association of
approximately $5 per member per year - the cheapest advertising to the
largest audience you will ever do.
"Thematic"
Shopping Malls on the Web, such as the "Shop Middletown" site with a
local, small-town focus, have the advantage of focusing attention on a
specific region or product area. We are still tribal in our
sub-conscious and like to congregate with our peers. Thematic sites
offer this experience and the "bells and whistles" that make us feel
more connected to our community.

you should be on the web
