World Wide Web Rates & Services

Web Page Design & Creation:

• $35 per hour for Web page/site design services.
• $10 per page for creation & coding in HTML (includes pre-marked-up text with no more that 3 elements on it.)
• $3 per additional element for placing it on a page.

All content to be placed on the page must be delivered on electronic media and owned by the customer.  Editing, marking up, and/or programming of any text or element will be an extra cost based on a rate of $12.50 per quarter hour.  Scanning of either black and white line art or photos (gray scale only) can be done at $3 per column inch.  I currently can not do full-color scans or digital color photos though I may be able to accommodate requests using an outside party at their prevailing rates and $12.50 for my time in arranging same.  Please see my Web Page Design and Maintenance Agreement and Web Site Planning Worksheet for more information.

"HTML" (HyperText Markup Language)

The formatting code needed for Web page layout.

"Page"

The amount of information contained in an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper such as you are reading now.

"Text"

Characters that form words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs.

"Element"

Any form of media, such as graphics, logos, photos, sounds, Image Maps, CGI scripts, Java scripts, Shockwave, GIF Animation, etc. that is not text.

"Column Inch"

A 4 inch wide times 1 inch long strip.

Web Page Promotion:

• $30 for initial promotion (up to 19 submissions).
• $5 for each additional directory submission (not including the Directory Service's charges.)
• $5 for a submission's changes or maintenance (not including the Directory Service's charges.)

Initial Promotion includes submission to 9 Search Engines(Alta Vista, Excite, HotBot, Infoseek, Lycos, OpenText, WebCrawler, What-U-Seek, and the WWW Worm), 6 General Directories(Appolo, Galaxy, InfoSpace, Magellen, New Riders Yellow Pages, and Yahoo), and 3 Announcement Sites(Net Happenings, What's New on the Internet, and What's New Too). 

Additional promotion services are available at my regular rates, including setting up Mailing Lists, Press Releases, and Camera-Ready copy for your stationery, business cards and flyers.

Web Page Hosting:

All members of the Middletown Merchants Association are offered free hosting of a Web Site containing no more than 200Kbytes of files on the "Shop Middletown" Web Site. This offer is sponsored by the Middletown Merchants Association and includes Hosting only. 

All page design, creation, and promotion services are at the member's expense and can either be handled by Computer Taming at my regular rates, by another Web design service, or by the member using the on-line page building and promotion tools.  Additional information on this offer and instructions on creation of your Web space on the server are available on the "Shop Middletown" site.
