You may see snow in higher elevations with winter temperatures of 30 to 60 degrees and summer temperatures of 55 to 95 degrees with a few days over 100 and average humidity of 30 to 50%.
The local economy is based on agriculture and tourism. Lake County is a premium wine-growing area and is famous for it's pears and walnuts. Clear Lake and Blue Lakes are the major destinations for tourism. Other attractions include The Geysers, the largest geothermal field in the world, and the Homestake Gold Mine in the Lower Lake area.
The population of Lake County is over 52,000 and it is a popular retirement area with nearly 35% of the population over 60. It is also one of the fastest growing areas in California with affordable housing and the county population has a median age of 40.
